The game at its core works as a linear-progression arcade game. The premise is to simply move forward until you get to the boss while avoiding the projectiles and enemies that are present.
The boss encounters are that of an early arena fighter duel in the same vein as "VIRTUAL-ON". If I wanted to accurately describe this
project, I would say that it was essentially a merging of Pocky & Rocky with VIRTUAL-ON and Touhou Spellcards.
The Player has access to an "Evasive Special" which functions similar to a "Bomb/Spellcard" This is triggered by Holding both the Fire Key and the Melee Key at the same time. Each boss has a total
of three cards which Trigger at certain thresholds of their current health stats. Evasives can be long ranged or short ranged, but the majority of them
are long ranged attacks that the player must avoid.
Mobility is another thing heavily emphasized as I think that is what makes most of the gameplay mechanic. Players have two movement states they can be in, a Lock-On State, or a Free Roam State. The Player by default, remains in a Free Roam State and upon pressing the 'C' Key engages in the Lock-On State. This Entails strafing around the opponent in a similar manner to Virtual-On's mechanics. The Lock-On State gives you more rapid movement than the Free Roam State so I would recommened using that when dealing with Bosses. Players also have the ability to "dash" but this appears more as sliding as you would find in Pocky & Rocky. This can be triggered by pressing the "V" Key. The player has a special floating state which suspends gravity and, as the name suggests, "float" for a given amount of time. This is engaged by double tapping the Jump or 'SPACE' Key.
Assault is pretty simple. The player has two Shot States, a "Primary Shot State" and a "Secondary Shot State." The primary shot state shoots a rapid fire continuously much as Touhou or Pocky and Rocky use. The secondary shot state gives a more unique bullet to each character in the game. As one would expect, the shot delay is much longer and it is planned to use up your "PP" or power points (It doesn't at the moment). Power Points give you access to your evasives and your secondary shots. A player has access to a Melee attack. It is a very basic sweep that can be used to Hit any Enemy or Boss. This is triggered by the "X" key. You might not use it that much because it is only a close range option and doesn't really do much other than stun an enemy.
I would advise you not to treat this like any game you are familiar with because you will end up getting your wig split.
